Overview
Hat Rock Contemporary

We are pleased to host one of the sites for the 2026 North Bellarine Arts Trail featuring the works of Jane Flowers, Kim Doherty, Judi Haskett and Christine Sproule.

Jane Flowers

Wind and water, sea and sky are dominant themes in Jane Flowers’ oils on canvas – particularly capturing sunlight on water – a response to eighteen years living next to Port Phillip on the Bellarine.

A keen sailor, diver beachcomber and explorer, Jane loves to encourage the viewer to appreciate the beauty in nature and the world around us.

Chris Sproule

" I love to sculpt fun quirky characters from rustic clay. I am inspired by birds and animals. I am particulary drawn to pelicans, toucans, dogs and even gargoyles!  I think a garden/decor can be enhanced by a few fun special pieces that add colour and interest."

Judi Haskett

“I would describe my artwork as sculptural, sometimes functional but always of an organic nature.

My work is fundamentally about the natural world whether I express that through figurative sculpture, shell sculpture or more functional pieces.

I make them using a variety of clay bodies, depending on the strength of clay, texture and colour and glaze required to enhance the finished piece.”

Kim Doherty

An award winning handweaver, I also love giving a modern spin to traditional textile techniques like weaving and knitting. by using materials like wire and monofilament and combining these with metal, photography and found objects to create unique art pieces.

"The beautiful Bellarine Peninsula provides endless inspiration and flotsam that can't help but influence my work.”
